The Best Women’s Underwear

Underwear is an important element of hygiene and comes into contact with very sensitive areas of our bodies. Therefore, when choosing underwear for yourself, you need to be especially careful. It is worth noting that even large and well-known manufacturers of underwear have been found using materials that are harmful to people’s health. Some manufacturers of lingerie have been criticized for using materials and chemicals that can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. We will not list the brands that have been noted for using undesirable materials in their products but will instead list the materials that should not be present in your underwear.

Some materials and chemicals used in the production of underwear can have carcinogenic effects:

  • Azo dyes: some of these can release carcinogenic amines.
  • Formaldehyde: often used in fabric finishes, it can cause irritation and is potentially carcinogenic.
  • Phthalates: added to plastics for elasticity, they can be associated with hormonal disruptions.
  • PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances): used for water-repellent finishes, they have potential toxicity.

When choosing underwear, try to prefer natural materials such as cotton or bamboo and avoid items with a strong chemical smell.

The following materials are considered safe for the production of underwear:

  • Cotton: natural, breathable, hypoallergenic.
  • Bamboo: antibacterial, good moisture absorption.
  • Modal: soft, eco-friendly, non-irritating.
  • Linen: durable, hypoallergenic, good moisture absorption.
  • Silk: natural, breathable, gentle on the skin.

These materials minimize the risk of allergic reactions and ensure comfort.
